It’s been a while since I last posted. I pretty much skipped the entire month of June. The reason is, June was a tough month for me, health-wise.
To recap what went down in June:
- I sprained my back muscle two weeks before my Europe trip. I was barely walking for two days and was in so much pain for a whole week, finally decided to see a doctor about it.
- Fell and scraped my right knee in the doctor’s parking lot. I got a sizeable scab that lasted for over three weeks, no swimming for me on the trip.
- When we were in Croatia, about day five, I got what I thought was strep throat because my throat was in so much pain that I couldn’t sleep and no medicine was helping, and then I lost my voice for three days. This throat pain lasted for about another seven days.
So I took some time off to recover and mostly to think about priorities. A simple fall or sprain could make a huge impact on the quality of my life. The pain and inconveniences affect my mood and my ability to enjoy my family.
Now here we are, in July, feeling much better with a shifted personal priority – eat well, sleep well, exercise and don’t ever take health for granted.
(Feels great to be back!)
