Last week, I was at VELOCITY: 2019 UCLA Anderson’s Women’s Leadership Summit. This year’s summit theme was “be bold.” I was not only inspired by the fantastic & bold female speakers but also star-struck by Barbra Streisand who showed up to accept the Anderson Women’s Leadership award. What a treat!
There are two women conferences I try to go to every year, the UCLA Anderson Women’s Leadership Summit and Grace Hopper Celebration in fall. The first one is more local to LA and the second one is a global conference that attracts more than 20,000 women in engineering every year. At the UCLA Anderson Summit, I am on the younger side, fascinated by all the women who paved the way for future generations women. One message I walked away from the conference was – “Be bold and be yourself.” It fits well for my goal for 2019- it’s time to stop worrying about what others think of you and go for what you believe.
